Mike Moore Shrine Bowl Run

Mike Moore Shrine Bowl Run

The Shrine Bowl Run of the Carolinas was first held on Thursday, December 11, 1986 when 40 senior Cross Country athletes from North Carolina and South Carolina ran the game balls along a route ending at the annual Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas football game.  Originally organized as a fundraiser for Shriner’s Hospital, the Shriners have been very involved with the event since its inception, often providing a tour of the hospital to participating seniors.  This event is the All Star event for Cross Country in our state.  Later renamed after Mike Moore, hall of fame coach from Irmo South Carolina, the Mike Moore Shrine Bowl Run has been an exceptional event for high school cross country athletes in South Carolina for 40 years.
