Bobby Urban (Richland Northeast/Dorman)

Bobby Urban was inducted into the SCTCCCA Coaches Hall of Fame on July 12, 2026. Coach Urban spent 7 years coaching at Richland Northeast High School, and another 7 at Dorman High School. In that time, as head cross country coach he led RNE to top ten finishes after 8 years of not qualifying for state. He then served as the head boys and girls cross country coach at Dorman where had six region championships, won a Boys State Championship in 2002 and a Girls State Championship in 2004 as well as a boys Runner Up Finish in 2003. TYhese were the first State Cross Country Titles in School History. In Track and Field, as an assistant at RNE he contriubuted to a 4 times Region Championship team, and then served as the Head Boys Coach at Forman, where they won 4 region championships in 7 years. As an assistant at Dorman, they were 5A State Champions in 2017 and 2021, and won 4 region championships. Coach Urban started the SCTCCCA Email List to encourage communication between coaches, and served as Vice President of the Association from 2004-06. He was the Shrine Bowl assistant Coach in 2003, and Head Coach in 2004.
